BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The meeting was called to order at 11:02 am by Ms. Maureen Capp.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the February 12, 2016 board meeting were approved. Motion: Ms. Decker, second Mr. Gyllin. Motion passed.
FCRD has received $250 from Goldman Sachs. FCRD’s account at the Florida College System contains $15,564.
- EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE: No report at this time
- COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE: We will be putting the registration link online for the conference. There was discussion about putting meeting minutes and names of members on the updated website.
- SPRING CONFERENCE: St. Petersburg College is booking rooms at Hotel Indigo as an overflow site for conference attendees. Trey Long and James Moore from a CPA firm, AFI, are providing $1,000 to sponsor the welcome reception. Conference registration payments will be able to be accepted through a web link. The plenary session will focus on social return on investment, the value of doing good. Lean 6 Sigma will be a topic for a plenary or breakfast session. Jackie noted that she was also looking to bring in a leadership specialist to speak. Friday morning will be a time that includes more open dialog. Nancy noted that she has a presentation on the value of community colleges in Florida that could be presented on the afternoon of April 7th or the morning of April 8th. Suggestions for topics that relate to Foundations include upcoming changes to how donor social security numbers may be used, IRS/tax issues, annual giving, events, and stewardship planning. There is enough space on Friday to run concurrent sessions. Jackie will send out the conference session schedule. The conference registration fee is $179.
